TrueShot Studio was founded on a simple but powerful realization—photographs matter more than we often realize in the moment.

Matthew Stricker, the photographer and owner of TrueShot Studio, originally began his creative journey in videography, capturing stories through motion and film. Photography started as a way to expand that storytelling into single moments frozen in time.

After experiencing a loss in the family, Matthew watched his father revisit old photographs—smiling, remembering, and reconnecting with moments that had long passed. Those photos became more than images; they became a way to relive memories and honor the people who mattered most.

That experience changed how Matthew saw photography.

It inspired him to help families capture moments today that they will treasure for years to come.

At TrueShot Studio, the mission is simple:

From student athletes competing at their highest level to seniors stepping into their future, each photograph is designed to highlight the strength, personality, and story behind the subject. 

These are the moments families look back on years later—the moments that bring a smile, a memory, and a sense of pride.

Matthew currently works as a paraprofessional at Fairbanks High School and serves as the school’s yearbook advisor, which keeps him closely connected to students, families, and local athletics.

Before joining the Fairbanks Local School District, Matthew worked with Reynoldsburg City Schools, supporting students at the elementary level.

His involvement with school athletics and yearbook photography has brought him back to an earlier passion—sports photography—something he first experienced while working with the Columbus Destroyers, Columbus’ former Arena Football League team.

Being on the sidelines today allows him to capture the dedication, pride, and excitement that athletes bring to their sport.
